TAFE’s`J Farm Services` to provide free of cost Tractor rental platform

To boost the income of Indian farmers, TAFE - the Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, Chennai, which is India`s second largest tractor manufacturer announced the national expansion of its CSR initiatives with“JFarm Services App”facilitating the hiring of tractors and farm equipment by linking directly to the farmers working on FREE OF COST Farmer- to-farmer model (F2F). This App enables them to contact farmer entrepreneurs, negotiate rental prices and fulfill their respective requirements.

To boost the income of Indian farmers, TAFE - the Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, Chennai, which is India`s second largest tractor manufacturer announced the national expansion of its CSR initiatives with“JFarm Services App”facilitating the hiring  of tractors and farm equipment by linking directly to the farmers working on FREE OF COST Farmer- to-farmer model (F2F). This App enables them to contact farmer entrepreneurs, negotiate rental prices and fulfill their respective requirements.

TAFE is collaborating with various state Governments like Bihar, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Assam to roll out the J Farm Services platform.

J Farm Services initial Pilot roll-out covers Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh directly benefitting around 60,000 users resulting in over 100,000 orders, adding up to about 250,000 hours in hired farm machinery usage.

President &COO, TAFE Shri T R Kesavan informed Krishi Jagran that the Farmers can hire equipment through the JFarm Services Android App, or by the toll-free helpline number 1800-4-200-100. The services are also available with the local Custom Hiring Centres.

The App can be used on all Android Phones and is designed to consume very little data. Farmers who don`t own smart or feature phones can use the toll-free helpline.

The platform also provides periodic updates on local weather, market, agri-news and Mandi prices without any fee.

On the occasion of the launch of the App, the Chairman & CEO, TAFE, Ms Mallika Srinivasan interacted with Krishi Jagran and further added that the farm equipment rental platform is a CSR initiative to aligned with TAFE`s vision and commitment to serve the economic well-being of Indian Farmers.

“ With this launch, we aim to touch millions of farmers who have no access to farm mechanization and modern technology, while accelerating the progress towards the prime minister's vision of Doubling the Farm Incomes by 2022,” said Srinivasan.
