Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strategy to achieve his government's key
agrarian agenda of doubling farmer income is by reducing cultvaton cost,
ensuring proftable prize, processing farm waste and creatng nonfarm sources
of income.
Rakesh Bhart Miial, 'President of Chamber of Indian Industries' said that,
“With the government planning to double farmer income in the next few years
and palliate the existng crisis in the agriculture sector, policy think tank NITI
Aayog should come out with a comprehensive ranking system for states in
agriculture". He also said that if farm income in the country is to be doubled,
this cannot happen without the private sector investng in the agriculture
sector.
Every state is fghtng with each other for investment and a similar set up should
be there for agriculture as well. Since the agriculture sector is in distress these
kinds of steps are credibly required 'The CII President said.
The creaton of the insolvency and Bankruptcy code IIBC and the introducton
of the goods and services were the biggest reform seen by the Indian economy
said Uday Kotak, President-designate of CII.
According to the president of CII 'The industry lobby group along with its
members and the union government will work in the domain of electric
