Sanjay Agarawal, a 1984 Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer has been appointed as the Secretary of Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare on September 17. Agarawal, presently the Additional Chief Secretary in charge of Secondary and Higher Education and Public Works Department in the state government, will replace S.K Pattanayak, who retires this month.
Agarawal holds an M. Tech degree in electrical engineering and has worked as Development Commissioner, Handicrafts in the Ministry of Textiles from 2005 and 2010.
Additionally, UP cadre IAS officer, Devesh Chaturvedi, currently Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture will take over as Additional Secretary.
