Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Reaches Delhi, Aims to Propel India Towards Development

The central government outreach program, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, witnessed substantial participation from Delhi residents on January 8, 2024. The program aims to overhaul lives and ensure equal access to welfare schemes.

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra reached Nehru Nagar, New Delhi, on January 8. Spearheaded by Arjun Munda, the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare & Tribal Affairs, the event had in attendance important dignitaries like Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, J.P. Nadda, Honourable President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Honourable MP and former Union Cabinet Minister, Gautam Gambhir, Honourable Member of Parliament, Virendra Sachdeva, President of BJP in Delhi, and Vijendra Gupta, MLA, among others.

What is Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra?

Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 15, 2023, is a nationwide campaign aimed at raising awareness through outreach activities. Its goal is to achieve the saturation of Government of India schemes across the country, covering all Gram Panchayats, Nagar Panchayats, and Urban Local Bodies.

The objectives include:

  • Reaching the unreached: Targeting the vulnerable who are eligible for various schemes but have not yet availed themselves of the benefits.
  • Dissemination of information and generating awareness about schemes.
  • Learning from citizens: Engaging with beneficiaries of government schemes through personal stories and shared experiences.
  • Enrolment of potential beneficiaries through details ascertained during the Yatra.

The campaign adopts a comprehensive government approach, actively involving various Ministries/Departments of the Government of India, State Governments, Central Government Organizations, and Institutions. This aims to ensure the widest possible participation for the benefit of citizens and to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Raising Awareness and Delivering Benefits

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has been instrumental in promoting various government welfare schemes. Programs such as Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY, PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM Vishwakarma, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Jan Dhan Yojana have played pivotal roles in uplifting and supporting various sections of society.

Prime Minister's Involvement

During the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi actively engaged with beneficiaries through video conferencing, directly assessing their experiences and the advantages derived from these central government schemes. This interaction showcased the tangible impact and effectiveness of these welfare initiatives.

Massive Participation and Pledge

An impressive turnout of beneficiaries from diverse regions across the country marked the event, signifying the extensive impact of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. Attendees collectively pledged to drive India towards development and transformation, setting a target to achieve developed nation status by 2047.

This initiative underscores the government's unwavering commitment to ensuring the timely and equitable distribution of schemes to their intended beneficiaries. Notably, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra achieved a significant milestone, connecting with over 11 crore individuals within a mere 50 days since its launch in Jharkhand.

Inclusive Outreach

The Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) vans deployed as part of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra are instrumental in delivering the government's assurances to every village, bridging gaps, and extending scheme benefits without bias or discrimination.

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra continues to pave the way for a more inclusive and developed India, promising transformative changes in the lives of millions across the nation.
