Agriculture Ministry in consultation with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries has finalized the products for One District One Focus Product (ODOFP). The products are from agricultural, horticultural, animal, fisheries & aquaculture, poultry, milk and marine sectors for 728 districts across India.
The Centre has finalized the list of products after taking inputs from the States, UTs and ICAR. These products would be promoted in a cluster approach through convergence of Government schemes, to increase the value of products and with the ultimate aim of doubling farmers’ income. It must be noted that these products will be supported under the PM-FME yojana of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries that provides incentives to promoter as well as micro-enterprises.
The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare will support One District One Focus Product from its ongoing centrally sponsored schemes like MIDH, NFSM, RKVY and PKVY. Implementation of ODOFP by the State Governments would benefit farmers and give support for realizing the expectations of value addition & subsequently boosting agricultural exports.
