Big Relief for Farmers! Government Extends Payment Period of Bank Loans for 3 Months

Keeping in mind the problems of farmers amid nationwide lockdown, the government has come up with various relief measures while fighting against global pandemic COVID-19. Recently, the Uttarakhand government has decided to moratorium the payment of loans taken by farmers from cooperative banks for three months.

Keeping in mind the problems of farmers amid nationwide lockdown, the government has come up with various relief measures while fighting against global pandemic COVID-19. Recently, the Uttarakhand government has decided to moratorium the payment of loans taken by farmers from cooperative banks for three months. As per the report, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has instructed to extend the time for 3 months for the payment of loans taken by farmers for crops and agriculture keeping in view of the ongoing circumstances due to the lockdown. Moreover, farmers, who have taken loans from the cooperative banks for crops and agriculture, will be able to take advantage of this announcement of the state government.

Extended the Loan Payment for 3 Months

According to the information received from the Chief Minister's Office, the cooperative banks have been instructed to extend the time for 3 months for the payment of loans taken by farmers for crops and agriculture. As per the report, about 3.50 lakh farmers in the state have taken loans under various schemes. The government has taken this decision in the interest of these farmers who are suffering a lot due to this nationwide lockdown.

Transferred an Installment of Rs. 2000 under PM Kisan

Moreover, the central government has taken many decisions to give relief to the farmers. Recently, the government has transferred an instalment of Rs 2000 to the farmers' account under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan). Recently, the government has exempted the agricultural and allied services from lockdown rule-keeping in mind the harvesting of Rabi crops.
