A delegation from the Brazilian Embassy in New Delhi paid a visit to the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited's (IFFCO) newly constructed 'Nano Fertiliser Plant' in Kalol, Gandhinagar. Angelo de Queiro Mauricio led a team that included senior officials from the Agricultural Attache (Agriculture Affairs), Embassy of Brazil, New Delhi, to advance the Brazil-India Cooperative Alliance and assist Brazil in developing a nano urea production facility.

Notably, IFFCO and Brazilian Cooperative OCB had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the same.

Brazilian officials paid a visit to IFFCO's NABL-accredited lab as well as the R&D Center - Nano Biotechnology Research Center. They also went to a pilot plant developed by IFFCO-NBRC to meet the field trial requirements before the product was finalized.

IFFCO officials briefed the visiting team on the 'Nano Urea' field demonstrations. Notably, IFFCO, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), demonstrated Nano Urea on over 15,000+ fields across the country before receiving approval from the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Yogendra Kumar, IFFCO's Marketing Director, and other senior Kalol Unit officials accompanied the officials.

Every day, IFFCO manufactures approximately 1.50 lakh Nano Urea Bottles at the new plant. Embassy officials were interested to learn that IFFCO had sold over one million bottles to farmers since the plant's commissioning in June 2021.

"Brazilian officials stated that India and Brazil are rapidly developing economies on a global scale and that the cooperative alliance will expand agricultural business opportunities." Brazil intends to strengthen ties and is interested in forming a cooperative alliance to manufacture IFFCO's 'Nano Urea Liquid' in Brazil, according to an IFFCO statement quoting Brazilian embassy officials.

Sustainable Solution for Plant Nutrition

The Nano Urea Liquid is a novel product that provides a sustainable solution for plant nutrition by increasing nutrient efficiency and reducing soil, water, and air pollution.

With less global warming, it also has a positive impact on groundwater quality and pollution. The MoU allowed for the exchange of ideas, the development of business relationships, and the carrying out of joint research and training activities, as well as educational discussions.
