Fasal Bima Yojana: Rs. 300 Crores to be Transferred in Bank Accounts of over 4 lakh Farmers of This State

As per latest reports, around Rs. 300 crores will be transferred in the account of more than 4 lakh farmers soon. The state government will give the amount according to the loss incurred on paddy and maize crops. The Co-operative Department, Bihar has completed all the preparations for sending the amount to farmers. Within a week, the money will start reaching into respective farmers’ bank account. Co-operative Minister, Government of Bihar, Rana Randhir said that more that 2 lakh farmers of 2201 Panchayats have been found eligible for this scheme after survey.

The state government will give the amount according to the loss incurred on paddy and maize crops. The Co-operative Department, Bihar has completed all the preparations for sending the amount to farmers. Within a week, the money will start reaching into respective farmers’ bank account. Co-operative Minister, Government of Bihar, Rana Randhir said that more that 2 lakh farmers of 2201 Panchayats have been found eligible for this scheme after survey.

These eligible farmers will get Rs. 215.16 crore while the remaining 1.64 lakh farmers will be examined and the amount will be sent soon. In Kharif 2019, about 25 lakh farmers had registered for the crop insurance scheme. Accordingly there is a provision to give crop assistance amount after estimating crop damage on the basis of crop harvesting.

Bihar Fasal Bima Yojana: Compensation for a maximum of 2 hectares

A farmer will be given compensation of Rs 7500 per hectare if the crop damage is 20 percent or less than it. Rs 10000 per hectare will be given for more than 20 percent of crop damage. There is a provision for compensation to a farmer for a maximum of 2 hectares of land.

Earlier, farmers had to pay a premium of 1.5 or 2%.

Officials of the Cooperative Department said that earlier about Rs. 300 to 500 crores was saved by insurance companies in fasal bima yojana. Farmers also had to pay a premium amount of 1.5 or 2 percent. After giving crop insurance amount for Kharif 2019, the process of payment of crop assistance amount for Rabi 2019-20 will also start soon. The amount under this scheme is given in case of flood, drought, excess rain, lack of production for any crop.

Double benefit to the farmers

1. Department of Agriculture gives input grant separately. This includes Rs 13500 per hectare for irrigated area and for non-irrigated area.

2. Rs. 6500 per hectare is given. There is a provision not to give less than Rs. 1000 to a farmer.
