Good News for 14 crore Farmers! Now They Will Get Additional Benefits with PM-Kisan Payout

There’s a good news for 14 crore farmers in the country. Now along with Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan scheme) payout, farmers will get many more benefits and facilities. The government has started a 15-day special campaign to issue Kisan Credit Card ((KCC) to all the beneficiaries of PM Kisan scheme.

There’s a good news for 14 crore farmers in the country. Now along with Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan scheme) payout, farmers will get many more benefits and facilities. The government has also started a 15-day special campaign to issue Kisan Credit Card (KCC) to all the beneficiaries of PM Kisan scheme. Kisan Credit Cards will be given to all farmers in the next 15 days. Apart from this PM-Kisan beneficiaries will get many other benefits that we have listed below.

It is important to mention that under Kisan Credit Card scheme, farmers will get a card through which, they can take loans up to Rs 3 lakh for a crop. This loan is available at the rate of 7 percent, which also gives a discount of 3 percent interest on timely deposit. In this way, farmers have to pay only 4 percent interest on the Kisan Credit Card loan.

Detailed instructions regarding the campaign have been issued to the Governments of all the States / UTs, Managing Directors of all banks and Chairman of NABARD that includes the procedure to be followed to cover the beneficiaries of PM-Kisan yojana under KCC. Detailed description is given;

Governments and banks of the States / UTs have been advised to prepare a list of all beneficiaries of PM-Kisan who do not have KCC.

Not only this, but it has also been advised to contact all these PM Kisan beneficiaries through the concerned departments and Panchayat Secretaries, including the departments of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Panchayat and Rural Development of the Governments of the States / UTs. The 'Bank Sakhi' will also be used under the NRLM scheme to motivate the beneficiaries of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi to visit branches of the respective banks for this purpose.

PM- Kisan Beneficiaries will get these facilities and benefits

  • They get Rs. 6000 annually

  • Farmers eligible for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi yojana can easily get Kisan Credit Card.

  • Avail loan up to Rs 3 lakh at 4% interest rate

  • Eligible farmers can take benefit of Pradhan Mantri Suraksha BimaYojana (PMSBY) & Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana (PMJJBY), after receiving their consent.  These two schemes offer accident insurance as well as life insurance at a premium of Rs.12 and Rs.330 respectively, for an insured value of Rupees two lakh in each case.

Farmers will get special facility for next 15 days

Those who already have Kisan Credit Cards can now increase their limit. Farmers whose Kisan Credit Card is inactive can go to their bank branch and get them activated. Those who do not have this facility can go to their bank branch and get a new card with their landholding and crop details.

As farmers from animal husbandry and fisheries sector can also take benefit of KCC, the State / UT Governments have also been requested to focus on such farmers.

Following steps have been taken for ease of application

  • A simple 1-page form has been made so that basic data will be obtained from the bank’s record under PM Kisan & only one copy of the land record with details of crop sown would be required.

  • Form will be available with an ad published in all leading newspapers across India and the same can be cut & filled by the beneficiaries.

  • You can also download the form from websites of all Scheduled Commercial Banks, the website of the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare - www.agricoop.gov.in & PM-KISAN www.pmkisan.gov.in.

  • Common Service Centres have been given permission to fill up the form & transmit the same to the concerned bank.
