Good News! Govt to Give Annual Pension of Rs. 12,000 to Farmers; Application Procedure, Terms & Conditions Explained

Government has extended the nationwide lockdown period up to May 17 across the country to stop the spread and transmission of global pandemic COVID-19. Due to the lockdown, farmers have been continuously facing a lot of hurdles in farming, day to day life along with their livelihood. However, the government has been releasing different relief measures for farmers, daily wage earners and workers amid this crisis period to lessen their pain through different schemes. Government has advised farmers to avail all the benefits of these relief schemes to beat the ongoing corona crisis. Moreover, the government has been making different efforts to empower the farmers in every way.

Kisan Pension Scheme

Moreover, the government of Uttarakhand has been making different efforts to empower the farmers in every way. In this sequence, the farmers of Uttarakhand can take the benefit of the farmer’s pension scheme. As per reports, the state government of Uttarakhand provides pension facility to the farmers.

Farmers who have turned 60 years are given an amount of 1000 rupees per month

Under this pension scheme, farmers of Uttarakhand who have turned 60 years are given an amount of 1000 rupees per month. This scheme is run by the social welfare department of the state government. Under the Kisan Pension Scheme, the government has released an amount of Rs 7.65 crore in the first quarter instalment of the financial year 2020-21. So far this amount has reached 25397 beneficiary farmers account.

Conditions for Getting Benefits from Kisan Pension Scheme

The government has also laid some conditions for the benefit of this scheme. To get the benefit, the farmer must be a resident of Uttarakhand. Moreover, farmers can be women or men. The beneficiary farmer, who must be 60 years or older need to cultivate up to 02 hectares of his own land.

How to Apply for Kisan Pension Scheme?

In order to get the benefit of the pension scheme, the farmer has to submit an affidavit in respect of his land on a stamp paper of 10 rupees. The farmer must have bank or post office account, Aadhaar number, voter ID, documents of ownership of the land. The form will be verified by Assistant Inspector General of Horticulture / Agriculture and District Horticulture Officer / Chief Agricultural Officer.
