Good News: Now Fertilizers will be delivered to Farmers at their Doorstep

Andhra CM Jagan Mohan Reddy along with Union minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda & Minister for State Chemicals & Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya has launched the facilities viz door delivery of fertilizers, PoS (Point of Sale) Version & SMS (Short Message Service) Gateway from Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs) to farmers through video conference.

Andhra Pradesh state government has initiated Rythu Bharosa Scheme, where an input subsidy of Rs. 13,500 is provided to the farmers in three spells, i.e. Rs 7500 during Kharif, Rs 4,000 in the Rabi season & Rs 2000 at the harvest time in January. In addition to cash transfer, farmers in the state are assured of services like 9 hours of free electricity, crop insurance, digging of free borewells, interest- free loans, help in purchasing farm inputs & training & capacity building through RBKs. It has established Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs) to assist farmers in every step from the purchase of seed to sale of their produce, which acts as a one-stop destination to address all the needs of farmers across the state.

Farmers can order fertilizers from their villages & it will be delivered at their doorstep, said Reddy. 

The Andhra Pradesh government has set up 10,641 RBKs near the village & ward secretariats with the working staff, who completed their Agriculture or Horticulture graduation from the recognized universities.  

All the RBKs are equipped with required infrastructure, where farmers can book the seeds & farm needs through digital kiosks & the material will be delivered to them within 48 hours. The government has also taken an initiative to set up a dedicated call center (155251) to address the farmers issues across the state, where nearly 46,500 calls have been received so far. Besides these, the farmers are also be trained through virtual platforms in advanced & effective methods of cultivation to maximize the harvest & increase the income,” Jagan said. 

Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda has appreciated the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh for the excellent work being done by the government through RBKs across the state & for the effective measure taken during the COVID-19 pandemic.  

“The DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) system has been working very well since its inception & the government of Andhra Pradesh also utilized it to a great extent by cooperating with the center in all schemes. The Department of fertilizer stood in the second place among 65 departments using the DBT system for end to end computerization of movement of fertilizer in the entire country with utmost transparency”, Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda said.
