IIT Kharagpur announces Online course ‘Application of Digital Technologies in Agriculture’

IIT Kharagpur declared the launch of an online course called “Application of Digital Technologies in Agriculture” to educate researchers to utilize new technologies in India's farming practices. The course aims to prepare students on the utilization of present-day advancements, for example, AI, drones, machine vision strategies, and sensors in farming.

IIT Kharagpur declared the launch of an online course called “Application of Digital Technologies in Agriculture” to educate researchers to utilize new technologies in India's farming practices. The course aims to prepare students on the utilization of present-day advancements, for example, AI, drones, machine vision strategies, and sensors in farming.

This course is sponsored by NAHEP-CAAST, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. The course will be conducted by the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

“It is important to empower human resources with digital technologies in the field of agricultural science and technology, particularly in less-explored domains. The penetration of knowledge will drive further Research and Development and develop a culture to understand and expedite the adoption of advanced technologies in agricultural practices,” said Professor Rajendra Machavaram, joint Principal Investigator of NAHEP-CAAST-IIT Kharagpur.

According to the IIT Kharagpur, NAHEP center is integrated mainly by three research divisions

Digital Knowledge support center based upon climate

Nursey Automation Center

Food Processing Automation center which focuses on the enhancement of quality.

The course will be added to post-graduate, doctoral students, while faculty members, and scientists from the Vasantarao Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Maharashtra will be invited said IIT Kharagpur in a statement.
