Mother Dairy has hiked up the price of milk by Rs. 2 in Delhi NCR regions. The prices are applied from March 6, 2022. This increase in the price came amid rising fuel costs, farmer pricing, and total cost of packaging said the dairy company in a statement on Saturday.

The statement also said that Mother Dairy is compelled to increase the liquid milk prices by Rs. 2 per liter in the Delhi NCR region which comes to effect from March 6, 2022.

  • From Sunday, full cream milk will cost Rs 59 per liter, up from Rs 57 on Saturday.

  • Toned milk would cost Rs 49 per liter, while double-toned milk will cost Rs 43 per liter. Cow milk prices have been increased from Rs 49 to Rs 51 per liter.

  • The price of bulk vended milk (token milk) has been hiked to Rs 46 per liter from Rs 44.

The company has seen a significant increase in various input expenses, which have climbed by a factor of ten. Since July 2021, farm prices have increased by 8-9 percent.

According to Mother Dairy, the operational costs of packaging, shipping, and other services have also grown. It further stated that, despite paying increased prices for milk, Mother Dairy maintained the same prices for customers.

According to Mother Dairy, the increase in farm prices is only partially passed on to customers, with an effective revision of only 4%.

This is smaller than the increase in agricultural costs seen in overall food inflation, according to the report.

On Monday, Cooperative GCMMF's Amul raised the price of milk in India by Rs 2 per liter. The higher milk pricing went into effect on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

This was completed after a nearly one-year hiatus. GCMMF had previously raised milk prices by Rs 2 per liter in July 2021.
