According to reports, over 15 lakh farmers in Jharkhand will not get the benefit of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana as they failed to provide the required documents.

The Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry has asked all the states including Jharkhand to provide the correct details of all the beneficiaries.

The government is also in the process of identifying those who deceptively took the benefits under the scheme. The amount paid to such farmers will be recovered by the government.

As many as 15.27 lakh beneficiaries in Jharkhand, who either have not updated the PM Kisan KYC or submitted the land documents are under the government's radar. Out of these 15.27 lakh people, 11.2 lakh have not submitted the land documents and 4.07 lakh farmers have not updated the e-KYC.

More than 30.97 lakh farmers had registered themselves under the PM Kisan scheme in May 2019. They were also given the financial benefit at least 4 to 6 times. But now the Centre has stopped sending money to these people as they failed to provide the necessary documents.

Most of the people who availed the benefit without submitting the documents are from Deoghar district where 61,442 'farmers' have not submitted the paper. Likewise, there are 36,536 such farmers in Palamu, 32662 in Godda, 29551 in Chatra, 27215 in Giridih, 25574 in Hazaribagh and 21973 in Ranchi.  This is not the end, the remaining districts in Jharkhand too have scores of people taking benefits of the scheme without proper documents.

In several districts, the administration has sent notices to people who have taken the benefit illegally.

However, it made it clear that those who will get their e-KYC updated will start receiving the financial benefit soon.

Till March, over Rs. 4,350 crore has been disbursed to ineligible beneficiaries under PM-Kisan yojana across the country. Out of the total amount, Rs 296.67 crore has been recovered from such beneficiaries.

Under PM Kisan scheme, an amount of Rs 6,000 is given to farmers per year in three installments of Rs 2,000 each. The amount is sent directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
