There are many schemes in agriculture that have been implemented by the Government to help the farming community in some or the other way. If we talk about the current scenario then there are two schemes that are more popular among the farmers - PM-Kisan yojana and PM-Maandhan yojana.

Both the schemes are different from each other but their objective is same i.e. to help the farmers by providing some monetary help. So let’s know about them in detail;

What is PM Kisan Yojana?

With a view to increase the income of Small and Marginal Farmers, the Government launched a new Central Sector Scheme, called ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, popularly known as PM-Kisan’ in 2018. The scheme aims to supplement the financial needs of cultivators in obtaining various inputs to ensure proper crop health & appropriate yields. It also protects farmers from falling in the clutches of moneylenders for meeting such expenses.

Under PM Kisan yojana, an income support of 6,000 per year is provided to the farmers in three equal installments of Rs. 2000 each. The fund is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmer beneficiaries. Till now, the Centre has transferred 7 installments under PM Kisan scheme benefiting more than 9 crore farmers.

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is becoming popular day by day because of timely distribution of fund and easy registration process. For kore details visit - https://pmkisan.gov.in/
