Terrace gardens, also known as roof gardens, are gardens that are grown on the terraces or rooftops of buildings to grow vegetables, fruits, or flowers. Due to space constraints, especially with the rise of builder floors and condominium living, the kitchen garden, which was a norm in every Indian household until the early twentieth century, has now migrated to the roof.

Terrace gardens are not specifically mentioned in Vastushastra since they did not exist at the time the Vastu tenets were created.
