IFFCO Nano Urea: The Only Nano Fertilizer Approved by Govt. of India; Know Its Uses & Benefits

IFFCO developed and patented a Nano fertilizer called Nano Urea which is readily available in the market.

Shivani Meena

The only Nano fertilizer approved by the Government of India and included in the Fertilizer Control Order is IFFCO Nano Urea (FCO). IFFCO developed and patented it. One bottle of Nano Urea may efficiently substitute at least one bag of Urea.

It has been trialed on over 90 crops in over 11,000 locations in partnership with ICAR-KVKs, Research Institutes, State Agriculture Universities, and progressive farmers in India. When Nano Urea is sprayed on leaves, it quickly penetrates through stomata and other openings and is assimilated by plant cells. It is easily transferred from source to sink within the plant as needed through the phloem.

Salient Features of Nano Urea

  • Eco-friendly

  • Suitable for all crops and soils

  • Protect the quality of the land, air, and water

  • At least a 50 percent reduction in urea

Benefits of Nano Urea

  • It successfully meets crop nitrogen requirements, boosts leaf photosynthesis, root biomass, effective tillers, or branches, and increases root biomass.

  • Increases farm income by increasing crop output and lowering input costs.

  • Because of its better efficiency, it can cut down the amount of traditional urea required by half or more.

  • Farmers can simply store and handle one bottle (500 ml) of Nano Urea.

  • It aids in the maintenance of soil, air, and water quality.

Application and Use of Nano Urea

Spray 2 to 4 mL of Nano urea in one Liter of water on crop plants during active development stages.

Apply two foliar sprays for the greatest results.

  • The first spray should be applied during the active tillering/branching stage (30-35 Days after Germination or 20-25 Days after Transplanting)

  • The second spray should be applied 20-25 days following the first treatment, or before the crop begins to flower.

Precautions

Nano-Urea has been assessed for biosafety and toxicity in accordance with the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) criteria, the Government of India, and OECD international guidelines.

Nano urea is non-toxic and harmless for the user; nevertheless, while spraying on crops, it is advisable to use a face mask and gloves. Keep out of the reach of children and pets and store in a dry area away from extreme temperatures.
