On Saturday, the web version of the National Dairy Development Board's (NDDB) e-GOPALA app was released to assist dairy producers. According to a release, the NDDB inaugurated the web version of the e-GOPALA application and the IMAP web portal, which offers real-time information to dairy producers for improved dairy animal productivity.

It was inaugurated by Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy, in the presence of Meenesh Shah, Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board, according to the statement.

Rupala added that the NDDB is encouraging technology-driven activities for milk farmers in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a "Digital India."

He praised the involvement of Indian Immunologicals (a subsidiary of NDDB) in the Covaxin production process, saying that increasing milch animal productivity will naturally improve farmers' income.

The e-GOPALA platform, according to NDDB Chairman Meenesh Shah, assists farmers in managing their livestock by facilitating the purchase and sale of disease-free germplasm in all forms (semen, embryos, etc. ); informing farmers about the availability of quality breeding services; and guiding farmers on animal nutrition and treatment using appropriate Ayurvedic ethno veterinary medicine.

There is a system in place to transmit alerts (on vaccine due dates, pregnancy diagnosis, calving, and so on) as well as notify farmers about different government initiatives.

He stated that this platform will allow for real-time monitoring of the coverage and development of different initiatives and government programmes.
