Why need for Specialized Seminar on Livestock Insurance?

Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi the initiative taken by the present Government is to double the farmers income in India by 2022. To achieve this multi modal focus on all farming achvies is proposed with special emphasis on Allied Agricultural activities such as veterinary. Etc As the growth of Crop/ Agriculture income has limitaion therefore thinking which has emerged is that farmers/ rural population should go in for more and more of:

Poultry farming

Fishery

Rearing of Goat/ Sheep

Bee Keeping

Silk worm production

In 2019, a separate Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying was created in the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. We intend to have this important seminar to discuss the importance of livestock Insurance which is a must for supporting our farmers/ families having livestock as means for livelihood.

The main objective of IFI is capacity building and promoting awareness of Insurance among people. Programme on Artificial Intelligence in Insurance Industry held on 23 September, 2019 at Mumbai for SBI General & SBI Life. Insurance Foundation of India successfully conducted 3 Days International In house Training Programme on “Property and Marine Insurance” from 29 June - 01 July 2019 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This was organized for Senior Management of Green Delta Insurance Company, Bangladesh. This was also a_ended by Private Insurance Companies from Bangladesh and Brokers from Malaysia. In association with Professional Advancement Bangladesh Ltd. (PABL) and Green Delta Insurance Co. Ltd., Insurance Foundation of India successfully organized 2 Days Programme in Dhaka (Bangladesh) on 26 - 27 Feb 2019 on “Transmiting Global Knowledge for Promo_ng Crop Insurance in Bangladesh”. Our 2 Days Extensive International Training Programme on “Crop Insurance” on 19 - 20 Nov. 2018 in New Delhi was a great success and was extensively covered in social media. There was a tremendous response from Foreign Regulator, Insurance Companies, Insurance Brokerage Firms, State Government Agriculture Ministry Officials (who buy insurance), Micro Finance Companies, Reinsurers, Media, Agricultural Analysts, Technology Companies. In additton to participants from all over India we had the proud privilege of having participants from all over India and from various countries such as Jordan, Kenya, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
