With the pandemic receding and the government lifting all Covid-19-related restrictions, preparations for the 32nd Krishi Mela are underway at the University of Agricultural Sciences in Dharwad.
Krishi Mela is scheduled to take place from May 27 to 29 at the varsity. Covid-19 had cast a pall over the event for the second year in a row in 2021. The event, which is normally held in September, had to be canceled due to the pandemic.
There will be a hi-tech horticulture exhibition, a fruits and flowers show, agro-forestry and bio-fuel trees, scientific animal husbandry, and an exhibition of breeds and home science technologies for women's empowerment.
UAS has jurisdiction over the seven districts of North Karnataka. People travel long distances to attend the Krishi Melas because they are so successful. Given this, agricultural equipment manufacturers such as sowing equipment, tractors, harvesting machines, and many others have put their products on display and sold them at the Krishi Mela over the years.
