Water Dialogues for Results Bonn 2021 will be organized by the Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz und Nukleare Sicherheit on 1 July 2021 in virtual format.
The High- Level Conference is answering the UN Secretary- General’s call to accelerate implementation of the SDGs in light of the UN- Water Acceleration Framework and in the context of the ambition for cross- sectoral approaches of the Agenda 2030.
As part of the efforts of the German Federal Government to overcome global water challenges, the “Water Dialogues for Results Bonn 2021: Accelerating cross-sectoral SDG 6 implementation” have been initiated by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).
Action-oriented Key Messages build on the UN-Water Acceleration Framework and are meant to fill it with life through concrete political priorities and recommendations for cross-sectoral SDG6 implementation. As a culmination of this process, the Key Messages will be presented at the virtual High-level Conference under the attendance of Ministers, relevant UN Agencies and cross-sectoral stakeholders.
The aim of the ‘Water Dialogues for Results’ and related High-Level Conference is to allow for an open and inclusive cross- sectoral and multi-stakeholder dialogue on how to ensure the achievement of SDG 6+ while using the leveraging power of the UN Water Action Decade.
