Crystal Crop Protection Acquires Corteva Agriscience Chlorpyrifos in India

Crystal Crop Protection Limited has acquired Dursban, Nurelle-D and Predator brands in India from Corteva Agriscience, a global pure-play agriculture company. Crystal Crop Protection is one of India's leading research and development based crop protection companies. Elaborating about the acquisition, Ankur Aggarwal, Managing Director of Crystal says, "This acquisition is a part of Crystal's strategy to add value to its business and ensure growth for all its stakeholders. We believe such strategic acquisitions would improve our competitiveness, further help in diversifying our product portfolio and thus strengthen our market presence across India.”

Crystal Crop Protection Limited has acquired Dursban, Nurelle-D and Predator brands in India from Corteva Agriscience, a global pure-play agriculture company. Crystal Crop Protection is one of India's leading research and development based crop protection companies.

This is the fifth acquisition done by Crystal's in the last two years. The first acquisition was of the manufacturing facility at Nagpur from Cytec India while the second one was India's GrainSorghum, Pearl Millet and Fodder Sorghum seeds business from Syngenta India. Furadan, Splendor, Affinity Force and Metcil from FMC India Limited was the third acquisition and the fourth one was from Sygenta's, which included its three brands , namely, Tilt, Proclaim and Blue Copper.

The leading agro-chemicals products company, Crystal has acquired many more brands and deals in the past few years. In the year 2016, the company signed an agreement with Germany's BASF SE to acquire the brand Bavistin for use in India. The company has also acquired a Hyderabad based company Rohini-Seeds Private Limited and Rohini Bioseeds and Agritech Private Limited in 2011, through which the brand has marked its presence in the seeds market.
