Escorts to Become First Firm in India to Secure Regulatory Approval to Offer Electric Tractors

The organization has been trading its electric tractors since 2019 and now intends to dispatch the equivalent in India, as indicated by a press report. It had first exhibited the idea of this vehicle in 2017.

On Monday, popular tractor maker Escorts acquired accreditation for its electric tractor vehicles for consenting to the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, turning Escorts into the first firm in the nation to get the administrative approval to sell electric drivetrain tractors. The Budni certification complies with the 1989, Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR).

Escorts is the first and only company in India to be given the Electric Tractor CMVR Certificate.

The organization has been trading its electric tractors since 2019 and now intends to dispatch the equivalent in India, as indicated by a press report. It had first exhibited the idea of this vehicle in 2017. In versions of the mechanical and hydro-static power transfer platform for sustainable and renewable agriculture, Escorts demonstrated the principle of electric tractors.

The credential was allowed in the 21-30 HP classby Central Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute, Budni for Escorts' electric tractors. According to the registration papers, the engine on these tractors will be built by Kirloskar NSE 2.99% Electrical Company Ltd.

The Escorts Group is an Indian engineering firm involved in the agricultural machinery, building and material processing equipment, and railway equipment industries. The combined net profit of the firm jumped 123.8 percent to Rs 227.22 crore on a 24 percent growth in net revenues to Rs 1,654.18 crore in Q2 September 2020 over Q2 September 2019.
