Good Governance in Agri-Input Regulation is Key To Achieve $ 5 Trillion Economy- Dhanuka

Good governance is critical to the nation's future growth. Bringing cutting-edge technology, such as drones for crop protection & quality inputs, holds the key to providing insurance to farmers' produce and doubling farmers' income, according to R G Agarwal, Group Chairman of Dhanuka.

Besides the use of technologies, like artificial intelligence & robotics, the use of best quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, too is essential, said Agarwal at a seminar organized to sensitize farmers about the benefits of the latest technology.

"There are large opportunities available in Bidar and adjoining regions in Karnataka to enhance the agri-yield, crop-quality & income of the farmers," he said.

About the Seminar:

Union Minister of State, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Bhagwanth Khuba, inaugurated the seminar, which saw the participation of large number of farmers from the area; stakeholders of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur; Government officials; Senior Scientists among others.

The discussion at the seminar held at Ghale Luxury Convention, Bidar focused on increasing the yield and quality of pulses crops in Bidar and Karnataka area along with maize and other crops.

Agarwal further stressed that farmers need to be educated & sensitized to take full advantage of the scientific and technological advances in the field of agriculture.

Dhanuka Group has been at the forefront in promoting the latest technology to help farmers increase yield. The company has latest technological Crop Protection products (Herbicides, Insecticides, Fungicides, Plant Growth Regulators) and has technical tie-ups with 2 American, 3 European, and 6 Japanese firms.

These initiatives will ultimately help to achieve the vision of our Prime Minister of doubling the farmers’ income and transforming India into a US$ 5 Trillion economy of which US$ 1 Trillion will be contributed by the agriculture sector," Agarwal said.

M Chandaragi, Director of Extension, UAS Raichur; Dr. Sain Dass, the most senior Scientist, Ex-Director Maize (ICAR) & Maize Expert; Dr. Shiv Sewak, Director, Indian Institute of Pulse Research, Kanpur; Satya Bhushan Jain, National Vice-Chairman, Confederation of All India Traders among others.
