EPF, or Employees' Provident Fund, is sometimes referred to as PF. It is a government-sponsored savings plan for organized-sector employees. Every year, the EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organisation), a statutory agency established under the Employees' Provident Fund Act, 1956, announces the EPF interest rate.

EPFO offers a variety of services through the government's unified mobile app, UMANG. This app allows members to check their PF balance and download their passbooks.

How to check your EPF balance without a UAN?

The EPFO allows its members to check their Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) balance using Universal Account Number (UAN). However, subscribers can now check their EPF balance even without the UAN. 

In case you do not remember your UAN, you can still check your EPF balance easily. You can check the balance by giving a missed call on 011-229014016 from the registered mobile number. In this case, you are not required to provide the UAN number. However, they need to be registered on the UAN portal and have the KYC details seeded in their account.

Also, the members of the EPFO can check their balance without a UAN by going to the Employees' Provident Fund Organization's official website (EPFO).

It is simple to check one's provident fund balance, and one can withdraw EPF funds without a UAN by using various means.

  • Log in at epfindia.gov.in

  • On the home page, click on “Click Here to know your EPF Balance”

  • You will be routed to epfoservices.in/epfo/. Select "Member Balance Information" from the drop-down menu.

  • Choose your state and then the EPFO office link.

  • Your PF Account Number, name, and registered cellphone number are required fields.

  • Your PF balance will be revealed after you click 'Submit.'
