Union Agriculture Secretary Manoj Ahuja underlined the importance of systematic loss reduction in the maize value chain at the India Maize Summit, which was held by FICCI.
"At the moment, maize production is in the 33-34 mt range. We need a 44-45 mt increase in maize production over the next five years to meet the rising demand for ethanol and the poultry industry," Ahuja said. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) hosted the 9th edition of the "India Maize Summit" on April 18, 2023, with the topic "Maize for India's Sustainable Agriculture Future." FICCI has been organizing the India Maize Summit since 2013, and the previous eight editions have been a success.
