ATL and KVK-ATMA Launch Event Held at NITI Aayog to Make Agriculture Sustainable

The ATL and KVK-ATMA Collaboration launch event was held at NlTl Aayog today i.e., 13th April 2023 at NITI Aayog and saw the participation of several agriculture dignitaries.

The welcoming address was presented by Deepali Upadhyay, Program Director, Atal lnnovation Mission, NlTl Aayog. Subsequently, Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, MD, Atal lnnovation Mission, NlTl Aayog and Samuel Praveen, J. S. [Extension] DA&FW, spoke at the launch event for ATL and KVK-ATMA collaboration at NITI Aayog.

Samuel Praveen opened the event and discussed the role of KVKs in disseminating knowledge and information on modern agricultural practices among farmers and other stakeholders. He emphasized that KVKs were promoting sustainable agriculture and increasing land productivity by introducing new and improved technologies, crop varieties, and livestock breeds. Manoj Ahuja, Secretary of DA&FW, discussed the role of KVKs in the Green Revolution, while Dr. Shailesh Kumar Mishra, Director Extension Division of DA&FW, discussed the program's purpose, which is to promote collaboration between NITI Aayog, DA&FW, and ICAR.

The event ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shailesh Kumar Mishra. The collaboration between ATLs and KVKs aims to assist farmers and increase land productivity by introducing new and improved technologies, crop varieties, and livestock breeds. The program's goal is to provide location-specific and need-based technologies demonstrated in farmers' fields through a land-to-land approach. The event was successful in bringing together different stakeholders from the agriculture sector to discuss how to promote sustainable agriculture and improve farmers' lives.
