Bank Holidays 2022: Banks To Remain Shut, For 16 Days In January; Check Full List

January 2022: If you have any bank-related task in January, you should check the list of Bank Holidays ahead of time. Banks will be closed for the full 16-day period, not just four or six days in January. In such a situation, check to see if your state's banks are open or closed before going to the bank.

There are 7 weekend holidays in January 2022, out of a total of 16 bank holidays in December. Many of these holidays will occur on a regular basis. Let us assure you that banks will not be closed for the entire 16-day period. These holidays are in different states, according to the list of holidays on the RBI's official website. All of these holidays will not be valid in every state.

  • January 14: Makar Sankranti/Pongal.

  • January 15: Uttarayan Punyakala maker Sankranti Festival/ Maghe Sankranti/ Sankranti/ Pongal/ Thiruvalluvar Day (Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu).

  • January 18: Thai Poosam.

  • January 26: Republic Day.

  • January 31: Mi-Dam-Me-Phi

Banks To Remain Close Even On Weekends

  • January 2: Sunday.

  • January 8: Second Saturday.

  • January 9: Sunday.

  • January 16: Sunday.

  • January 22: Fourth Saturday.

  • January 23: Sunday.

  • January 30: Sunday.
