The cooperative department of Bihar government, for the first time has launched a home delivery facility of sanitized vegetables in Patna and Motihari regions.

This news comes as a helping hand for the residents of Patna and Motihari, who are under home isolation because of rise in covid cases across the state. People can make their orders at www.tarkarimart.in. and the delivery will be made within 24 hours.

The government has launched this e-commerce platform for Patna and Motihari residents. Vegetables can be placed online and delivered at home in 24 hours, said the secretary of the State cooperative department, Bandana Preyashi.

She said that initially, we are covering these two districts to ensure fresh vegetables at the door. We have taken this initiative for those who can not come out to buy vegetables because of Covid; we have extended our hands to help them, she added.

The complete process is being implemented by the Vegetables Federation, which constitutes the state cooperative department and oversees vegetable supply from Bihar to several parts of the country.

Currently, vegetables are being supplied to West Bengal, UP, and other states as cultivations are being done on a larger scale.

Sanjay Kumar, the department spokesperson, said that the Tarkaari Veg Fed had centered its objective on reducing the negative impact of cheap rates by farmers and high prices from the customers. "It has run with a mission "Har Thaali Mein Bihari Tarkaari," he added.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lauded the initiative of online booking system for home delivery of fresh vegetables. He said that the online vegetable availability through the cooperative society would make the people very comfortable buying fresh vegetables while relaxing at home.

Preyashi told farmers engaged in vegetable cultivations are being made union members of cooperative society for vegetables supplying from their farms to the customers through the e-commerce portal of the department.

MD of the department, Anand Sharma, also highlighted the benefits of the e-commerce of the department for promoting the brand of Bihari vegetables.
