CFTRI Offers Merit Scholarships to MSc (Food Technology) Students

On Thursday, a function was held at CFTRI (Central Food Technological Research Institute) in Mysuru to award the Kerry scholarship to students who scored the highest in the entrance tests for the MSc (Food Technology) class of 2021-23.

Riya Saini, Krishna Kumar Upadhyay, and Valcea Pearl D'Cunha received the scholarships, according to a statement from CFTRI.

Merit Scholarships as part of its CSR Activities:

Kerry Ingredients India Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, a food ingredient manufacturer, established the merit scholarships as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. Tuition, boarding and lodging, and development fees are all covered by the scholarship, which runs from 2021 to 2022.

The grant will be available to the three students for the duration of the course.

In addition, three MSc (Food Technology) students who receive the highest scores in the first-year exams will be eligible for scholarships in the final year, according to a release.

CFTRI Director Sridevi Singh, who delivered the presidential speech, as well as executives from Kerry Ingredients India, were in attendance at the scholarship award ceremony held at Cheluvamba Hall of CFTRI on Thursday.

About MSc (Food Technology) Programme:

The MSc (Food Technology) programme began in 1964 at the CSIR-CFTRI in Mysuru as part of the International Food Technology Training Centre (IFTTC).

The course is open to 29 students and is admitted by a nationwide admission examination. Two seats are earmarked for industrial people and one seat is reserved for military personnel.

According to the statement, the degree will be awarded by the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), which was founded in 2010 by a resolution of the Government of India and the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research Act 2011, which was notified as an “Institution of National Importance.”
