A 12-digit number known as a UAN, or Universal Account Number, is given to all eligible workers by the Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). It is a general number that contains information about the many Member IDs that various organizations assign you.

The employee can use this number to check their EPF balance, make cash withdrawals, and apply for a PF loan. Online UAN number generation is now simple for employees. Remember to have your Aadhaar number on hand before starting the UAN generation process.

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to generate a direct UAN:

For more information, go to the EPFO website

Click on Direct UAN Allotment by Employees on the right-hand side.

Give your Aadhar-linked mobile number, complete the captcha, and press the Generate OTP button.

Type the OTP that was obtained on your Aadhar-linked mobile device and press the submit button.

If "Are you working in any private company, factory, or establishment?" is asked, choose Yes. The system will direct you to the main page if No is chosen.

From the drop-down list, pick the appropriate "Employment Category"

The system will ask for the PF code number if "Employment Category" is set to "In Establishment/Company/Factory" coming under EPFO; otherwise, it will ask for information on the establishments.

The system will show the installation information. You must now input the joining date, choose the type of "Identity Proof," and submit a copy of that proof.

Once you have entered your Aadhar or Virtual ID and the captcha, click Generate OTP. An OTP will be sent to your phone, which you must input so that the system can get information from UIDAI. Click on the Register button.

Your UAN will be generated, and you'll also get it on your phone.
