Extremely Heavy Rain Alert in Theses Southern States; Fresh Spell of Snowfall in Manali

The weather department of India has issued a ‘heavy rainfall alert’ with extremely heavy falls over Coastal Andhra Pradesh in the next 24 hours and over Coastal Karnataka during the next 48 hours. The weather department has also warned of widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over peninsular (coastal) India during the next 4 days and over Eastern and Northeastern parts of India on 24th and 25th October. Moreover, it’s a pleasant day in Delhi on Wednesday morning as the temperature settled at 32 degrees Celsius, which is normal for this time of the season, the weather officials said.

The Well Marked Low-Pressure Area over central parts of the Arabian Sea with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 4.5 km above mean sea level persists. It is very likely to concentrate on a Depression during the next 36 hours. It is likely to move initially east-northeastwards over the east-central Arabian Sea till 25th October and then west-northwestwards with gradual intensification” said the Meteorological Department of India has in its morning bulletin.

As per yesterday’s report, “Most places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Interior Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep lashed with heavy rainfall while few places over Saurashtra & Kutch, Konkan & Goa and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh observed heavy falls accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning. 

Maximum temperatures are recorded above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over Odisha, at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Gangetic West Bengal while minimum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha. 

As per the report, few places of Himachal Pradesh including Manali experienced a splash of snowfall and a heart chilling cold weather where temperature reported to be going down drastically.
