Farmers Celebrate Holi at Delhi Border; Burnt Copies of Farm laws in Holika Dahan

On Sunday, during Holika Dahan programme, farmers burnt the copies of New Farm Laws. This was done on the call of Samyukt Kisan Morcha.

Farmers protesting at the Ghazipur border celebrated Holi with much fervor. They sang and danced to the beat of Dhol today morning.

Over thousands of farmers have been camping at the various borders around the national capital, Delhi for the last 123 days protesting against the new Farm Laws.  Farmers are demanding to repeal the new Farm Laws and also want a separate law on minimum support price.  

A farmer said, “We demand that the government should accept our demand and take back the three farm laws so that we can go home.”

Many farmers from Punjab, Haryana, and Western Uttar Pradesh, have been camping at the several regions around Delhi borders including Tikri, Singhu, and Ghazipur.

On Sunday, during the Holika Dahan programme, farmers burnt the copies of New Farm Laws. This was done on the call of Samyukt Kisan Morcha.  They said the festival of colors did not hold any meaning for them as their livelihood was at stake. Raising slogans against the Central Government, they demanded to repeal the three controversial farm laws and a law for the guarantee of the MSP for different crops.
