Government Approves Lowering of NEET-PG Cut Offs by 6 percent for the year 2019-20

The Health Ministry in consultation with the Board of Governors, Medical Council of India (MCI) has decided to reduce the qualifying percentile in respect of NEET-PG for the year 2019-20 by 6 percentile. Now, general category candidates with minimum of marks at 44 percentile, persons with disabilities category with minimum of marks at 39 percentile and SC/ST OBC category candidates at 34 percentile will become eligible for admission to Post Graduate courses for the academic year 2019-20.

All States/UTs were requested to make necessary arrangements for allowing students as per revised qualifying marks in any further rounds of counseling this year. 

NEET PG 2019 Counselling Result for 2nd round has been released. NEET PG 2019 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Post Graduate) is a national level examination. It is conducted for candidates, who want to get admission into MD/MS/Post Graduate Diploma courses. This exam is managed by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2019 

Check the basic eligibility criteria of NEET PG 2019 of age, domicile, certificate and other details below: 

  • MBBS degree – As per the NEET PG 2019 eligibility criteria, aspirants must possess MBBS degree or provisional MBBS pass certificate recognized as per the provisions under Indian Medical Council 1956

  • Registration Certificate – Candidates must possess the permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC). As mentioned in the NEET PG eligibility conditions 2019, candidates must carry the MCI/SMC registration certificate at the NEET PG exam centre on the day of examination

  • Internship – In accordance with NEET PG eligibility criteria 2019, applicants should have completed or likely to complete 12 months mandatory rotatory internship on or before March 31, 2019

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2019 for 50percent All India Quota seats 

As per the eligibility criteria of NEET PG 2019, candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are eligible for 50 percent All India Quota seats. These states started participating in 50% AIQ scheme. While candidates belonging from Jammu and Kashmir are not eligible to participate for NEET PG 50 percent. All India Quota seats.
