How to Link Aadhaar Card with Ration Card? Easiest Online Method Here

The deadline to link Aadhaar card with ration card has been extended by the government till September 30, 2020. Till then, the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution have issued clear instructions to all states or UTs that no genuine beneficiary should be denied from an entitled quota of food grains.

The deadline to link Aadhaar card with ration card has been extended by the government till September 30, 2020. Till then, the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution have issued clear instructions to all states or UTs that no genuine beneficiary should be denied from an entitled quota of food grains. Also, their ration cards must not be cancelled only on the ground of not possessing an Aadhaar number.

The government has also said that linking of Aadhaar card with ration will ensure that no person entitled to ration is denied such access. As per an IANS report, around 85% of all 80 crore beneficiaries have presently linked their Aadhaar numbers with their ration cards respectively.

How to link Aadhaar card with ration card?

  1. First, go to the official website of UIDAI @uidai.gov.in. (The UIDAI is a statutory authority that issues Aadhaar)

  2. Now, click on ‘Start Now’ option

  3. Fill important details such as address details, district and state

  4. Select the benefit type as ‘Ration Card’ from the available options

  5. Choose the scheme name as ‘Ration Card

  6. Fill the ration card number, aadhaar number, e-mail address, and mobile number.

  7. Once the details are filled, a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to the mobile number.

  8. Now, enter the OTP.

  9. A notification will appear to inform the application process is done.

  10. Finally, post this, application will be verified & post successful verification aadhaar card will be linked to ration card.
