According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Thursday witnessed heavy rain in North Kerala. In Kannur, an orange alert has been issued in Kasaragod. Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, and other locations are under yellow alert in the districts of Kozhikode and Wayanad.
Mumbai Rainfall Predictions:
Mumbai is expected to have moderate rainfall on September 7 and isolated areas of severe rainfall on September 9 and 10, according to a forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to Skymet Weather Services, a private weather forecasting business, Mumbai is projected to see moderate to heavy rainfall between September 8 and 12, with a wet spell in the city on September 9, 10, and 11. This is likely to result in a cumulative 200 mm of rainfall in Mumbai.
Over Mumbai, the rain is probably going to stop by the middle of the month. Modest showers are probable over Mumbai on September 14 and 15, while the low-pressure system is anticipated to move towards Rajasthan by that time, according to Skymet.
Bengaluru Rainfall Predictions:
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted heavy rain in Bengaluru for the following five days on Wednesday. In light of the likelihood that the water level may rise, IMD issued a red alert and advised the public to get ready for additional floods. The weatherman predicted that Bengaluru's urban and rural districts would both be impacted by the rains.
"A red alert has been issued for the area. According to a senior official with the India Meteorological Department (IMD), some areas could experience more than 20 mm of rain in an hour. IMD figures show that Bangalore Urban district experienced 43.1 mm of rain on Tuesday, which is 585 percent more rain than usual.
The civic body has begun bulldozing encroachments on stormwater drains, mainly in the Mahadevapura and Bommanahalli regions, after severe waterlogging in the city for the second time in a week brought the authority's attention to congested drainage points.
The Karnataka High Court, meanwhile, ordered the BBMP to immediately establish ward-wise grievance cells to address the concerns of the flood-affected citizens. They were also instructed to prepare a proposal to install sluice gates for all of the city's lakes and submit it as soon as possible to the state government for approval.
