The Director General of the National Mission for Clean Ganga and additional secretary under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, GA Kumar, said at the 17th 'Everything About Water' expo held to strengthen cooperation between Israel and India in the water sector that India can learn a lot from Israel about water management and best practices.

"Israel, despite having very little water available, manages water very well; India can learn from Israel," said GA Kumar.

Dr. Lior Asaf, Water Attache, Israel Embassy in India, responded to a question about the Expo's outcome, saying, "It is a great opportunity for Israel and its companies to explore the possibility of cooperation in India."

"We are collaborating in UP's Bundelkhand project to provide safe drinking water in 25 villages in advanced agriculture expansion," he said.

The 17th Everything About Water Expo 2022 was inaugurated today in the national capital by the Ambassador of Israel in India Naor Gilon to strengthen cooperation between Israel and India in the water sector and the two countries longstanding ties.

Israel is the event's country partner, and it will be held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from August 4-6. Water distribution and management solutions, filtration, leak detection, wastewater treatment, desalination, and water security were all introduced by Israeli water companies.

India is the only country in which Israel has a Water Attache to assist in the sharing of Israeli best practices and technologies for advancements in India's water management sector.

Furthermore, the significance of Israel-India water cooperation can be seen in the fact that both countries signed two major water agreements to increase cooperation in water conservation and state water utility reform during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Israel in 2017.
