Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana [PMUY] aims to shelter the health of women and children by providing them with a pollution-less cooking medium – LPG so that they don’t compromise with their health in the smoky kitchen or ramble in unsafe places collecting firewood.

The government of India is supplying local LPG to the APL [Above poverty line] and BPL [below poverty line] and ration cardholder women of the country. The scheme is being launched and implemented under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Central Government. 

Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana is directing at providing five crore LPG connections in the name of women to the BPL household category across the country. PMUY was lifted by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on May 1, 2016, in Uttar Pradesh [Balia]. 

Eligibility: 

  • First and foremost, the requirement is that the applicant should be a woman.

  • The age of women should be more than 18 years.

  • She must connect to the BPL family.

  • She must have BPL and ration card.

  • There should not be an LPG connection in the name of any family member of the applicant.

 Documents required to Apply for PMUY 

  • BPL certificate authorized by Pradhan panchayat/Municipal chairman.

  • Ration card

  • One photo ID [ voting ID card or Aadhar card]

  • One recent passport size photograph

Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana Registration Process 

Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana application can be applied by filling and submitting the form at the nearest LPG agency offline. In the application form, one must mention an exact address, Jan Dhan bank account number, and Aadhar number of all family members of the applicant. 

The process takes place through offline mode; you can only download the form online.
