The Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre, an attached office of the Department of Agriculture Cooperation & Farmers' Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, has an Internship Scheme called "MNCFC Internship Scheme" for Indian Nationals pursuing M.Sc./M.Tech/B.Tech from a recognized University/Institution within India.

Interns may gain exposure to advanced RS & GIS Data Analysis and Forecasting Data Analysis methods at MNCFC, as well as contribute to the development of methodologies for enhancing agricultural assessment.

Eligibility

The applicant should be an Indian citizen.

(b) B. Tech or continuing M.Sc. /M. Tech/M.Sc (Tech) in any of the fields.

(c) Domains/areas available for Internship: Remote Sensing, GIS, Image processing, Crop Forecasting, Yield assessment, Agricultural Statistics, Machine learning, Data analysis Software Development, Drought Assessment, Disaster monitoring, Crop Insurance, Precision Farming, Hyperspectral Remote Sensing, Horticulture, Soil Moisture, Agro-meteorology, and Field Survey, etc.

Certificate

Certificate shall be issued to an intern on successful completion of his/her internship and submission of Report / Paper and its evaluation by the Director.

Duration

Internship shall be offered for a period of one to three months. Applications are invited throughout the year.

How To Apply For MNCFC Internship?

Interested students pursuing fields of study at various recognized universities/institutions may send their applications, along with their CVs, in the attached format (Annexure-II), to intern.ncfc-agri@gov.in through email. A recommendation letter from the supervisor/head of the department will be required.

The applicant should specify the month(s) in which she or he desires to work as an intern. The complete application should reach upto 10th day of previous month of internship program.

Applicants must include a letter from their supervisor/Head of Department/Principal identifying their role in the institution and communicating "No Objection" to enabling their student to participate in the internship programme for the term for which she/he is selected.

Before beginning an internship, the applicant will submit a Character Certificate from the Head of their Institution/Department/Guide.
