Piyush Goyal Introduces Digital Version of ODOP Gift Catalogue

The Minister emphasized that using products from the catalogue will help to build a brand image for local products in the international market, thereby supporting the Prime Minister's vision of "Make in India" and "Make for the World."

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry; Consumer Affairs; Food and Public Distribution and Textiles, Piyush Goyal unveiled the digital version of the ODOP gift catalogue. The digital launch occurred on August 5, 2022, during a meeting with Export Promotion Councils and Industry Associations at Vanijya Bhawan.

Fragrances and Oils, Indian Spirits, Home Decor products, Fabrics, Silks, and Shawls are all available in the ODOP gift catalogue. HCIM emphasized how the ODOP gift catalogue is a step toward realizing the potential of all Indian districts and will bring global recognition to the country's diverse indigenous products.

He also urged all line ministries, the Industry Association, and the Export Promotion Councils to use products from the catalogue to encourage design and branding. He also suggested making a concerted effort to include these Indian treasures in corporate gifting.

This will provide a significant boost to the local economy and will aid in the livelihood and sustenance of many farmers and artisans.

The Minister emphasized that using products from the catalogue will help to build a brand image for local products in the international market, thereby supporting the Prime Minister's vision of "Make in India" and "Make for the World."

He also asked all of the associations to provide feedback on each of these products in order to ensure continuous improvement and the product's ability to compete at a global level.

ODOP Background:

  • The ODOP Initiative aims to realize the Prime Minister's vision of fostering balanced regional development across all districts of the country.

  • The concept is to choose, brand, and promote One Product from Each District (One District - One Product) of the country in order to enable holistic socioeconomic growth across all regions.

  • The products chosen for ODOP represent a diverse range of sectors, Ministries, and Departments from all 761 districts across the country.
