Punjab Govt to Provide Farmers with 24/7 Electricity During Wheat and Paddy Season

The Punjab government has announced the provision of an uninterrupted power supply to farmers during the paddy season. He also added to his statement that a regular power supply was provided to farmers during wheat season.

Fatehgarh Sahib MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai said that the statement government will make sure that farmers make use of the latest technologies for profitable agriculture while addressing a Kisan Mela held at Attewaly village. The district-level Kisan Mela was organized by the Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Department. 

He also said that the government will ensure to provide an uninterrupted power supply for paddy season.

The minister said that this would be the first time in Punjab that the farmers will get an uninterrupted power supply for wheat and paddy seasons. He added to his statement that the government is planning different methods and strategies for the betterment of the farmers.

For example, a rainwater recharge project will be set up in the Fatehgarh Sahib constituency, new wells will be built in villages, and the abandoned wells will be restarted. 

Additionally, he advised farmers to become involved in ancillary businesses for economic affluence. Earlier, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann apprised the Union Minister that the farmers need surplus power for paddy crops. He also informed RK Singh to ensure regular and uninterrupted electricity supply to farmers during the paddy season.

Deputy Commissioner Parneet Shergill said that Kisan Mela has been a vital role in providing information about the latest technology and equipment to farmers. Farmers come to know and understand different agricultural technologies and suggestions offered by the agricultural experts can help farmers have an affluent farming experience.

Moreover, she informed me that the wheat procurement had started in the mandis of the district and ensured every grain would be acquired. She requested farmers not harvest the crop between 07:00 pm to 06:00 am as it increased moisture.
