Rashtrapati Bhavan Opens its Gates to Visitors from Today

The Rashtrapati Bhavan houses the President of the largest democracy in the world, has opened the gates to visitors in its 93rd year. Starting today, the 1st of December, the President's House, is open for public tours through Wednesday to Sunday, five days a week. The house does not organize tours on Mondays and Tuesdays.

This winter, visit Rashtrapati Bhavan on a day out for an immersive experience into history and colonial architecture. Beginning today, the 1st of December, the President's House, is open for public tours through Wednesday to Sunday, five days a week. The house does not organize tours on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum Complex on the other hand will be open for public viewing six days a week from Tuesday to Sunday, excluding Gazetted Holidays. On Gazetted Holidays, the entire Bhavan will remain closed for visitors.

On Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., the public will be able to see the military's traditional Change of Guard Ceremony, held at forecourt of the Bhavan. The ceremony, however, is only open to those whose arrivals have been pre-booked.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan houses the President of the largest democracy in the world. It commemorates colonial history and architecture and has a special place in the list of heritage buildings of the country with its mammoth like design and archaic grandeur with almost touching the century mark in just a few years to come.

When Can One Visit:

The tour will be offered on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, according to the official announcement. However, on gazetted holidays Rashtrapati Bhavan will remain closed. The Museum Complex of Rashtrapati Bhavan will be open for public viewing six days a week from Tuesday to Sunday, excluding Gazetted Holidays, in contrast to the President House, which is only open five days per week.

Visitors’ Timings:

On visiting days, visitors may visit during any of the five sets of time mentioned below. Between the hours of 10 am-11 am, 11 am-12 pm, 12 pm-1 pm, 2 pm- 3 pm, and 3 pm-4 pm, visitors are welcomed to take tours, organized within the President’s House.

The Main Building & Central Lawn: Circuit 1

Circuit one of Rashtrapati Bhavan takes the visitors on a tour of the main building, showing them the Forecourt and premier rooms of the Bhavan including, the Banquet Hall, Ashok Hall, Durbar Hall, Library, North Drawing Room, Long Drawing Room, Navachara, Arogya Vanam and more.

Circuit 1: The Rashtrapati Bhavan visit will be open only for five days from Wednesday to Sunday in a week (except Gazetted Holidays).

All Circuits will remain closed on all Gazetted Holidays.

Charges:

Registration charges of Rs. 50/- per visitor per Circuit. Visitors below the age of 8 years will be exempted from the payment of registration charges.
