Suresh Chitturi, New Chairman of the International Egg Commission

Suresh Chitturi has been elected as Chairman of the International Egg Commission (IEC). Chitturi is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Srinivasa Farms and the very first Indian and Asian to hold the position.

Suresh Chitturi has been elected as Chairman of the International Egg Commission (IEC). Chitturi is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Srinivasa Farms and the very first Indian and Asian to hold the position.

A fervent promoter of the nutritional benefits of egg, Chitturi’s tenure at the helm will be for the next 2 years. His work has been recognised at a global level as he was engaged in the advocacy for poultry industry, worldwide.

Mr. Chitturi took over as the Chairman at the IEC Global Leadership Conference held in Copenhagen.

The IEC, global network for the egg industry that has members in more than 80 countries, was established at the 2nd International Egg Conference in 1964 in Bologna (Italy), according to a statement.

Srinivasa Farms, based in Hyderabad, is engaged in chicken breeding, chicken & egg processing, feed manufacturing and extraction & processing soya oil. Last year in October, the company started a-Rs 300 crore expansion with diversification into the food processing.

The statement added that International Egg Commission, the London-based organisation aspires to promote international cooperation among all sectors of the egg industry, encouraging the development of better statistics & market intelligence for shell eggs as well as egg products.

The main objective of IEF is to help implement the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals & boost egg production as well as egg consumption in underdeveloped nations to give undernourished infant, kids and families with an independent, sustainable & high-quality protein supply. To attain these objectives, the organization works alongside the world’s largest & most effective charitable foundations and big egg businesses to help ensure high-quality protein is accessible to everyone.
