Tech Advantage is India's New Power says Dr Sheetal Chopra at SMARTecIndia Curtain Raiser

ASSOCHAM organized a curtain raiser event of SMARTecIndia 2021 at Hall- Inspire, Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi on 17 November 2021 from 11:00 AM onwards. The event will also be telecast live on all social media channels of ASSOCHAM.

The SMARTecIndia Initiative is a unique digital platform that has reached out to maximum target audience all over the world to showcase, reward, recognize and celebrate the world of smart technologies and how they are making our lives and businesses smarter and simpler.

The curtain raiser event was attended and addressed by many dignitaries across the world including Sheetal Chopra, Chairperson, ASSOCHAM IPR-Council and the Director, IPR Ericsson.

In her address she about how advanced technology has become in today’s date. She said “we have come a long way in terms of technology. Just a few years ago it used to take almost 72 hours to download a 90 minutes movie, and today, with 5G technology we can download the same in 90 seconds.”

She concluded by saying “India’s tech advantage is the new normal, it is a combination of time tested traditional pillars such as a continued focus on optimal cost efficiency, human capital, infrastructure, and government support”

About Dr Sheetal Chopra

Dr Sheetal Chopra is an Industry professional possessing Techno-Legal-Managerial acumen with good experience in the area of Public Policy and Government Affairs. She is a registered Indian Patent Agent and an Author of the book on Intellectual Property, 3rd Edition, published by Lexis Nexis.

Dr Sheetal is also a course coordinator for the Intellectual Property Talent Search Examination (IPTSE) for which she has authored course material. She is an avid speaker at national as well as international forums with extensive experience in the area of International Trade, Research & Advocacy, Policy development at domestic and International level; assisting Government in design, development, negotiation, consensus-building and implementation of international trade laws, international regulations and policy inputs that could lead to the sustainable development of Indian and international economy.

She is a visiting faculty and Trainer at various Educational Institutions/Government forums such as All India Radio (AIR), National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (NIPM), IIT, NLSIU etc. She is also an Editorial Board Member, “US-China law Review”, David Publishing.
