At the inauguration of the Compressed Bio Gas Plant in Budaun, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced his plans to launch 100 new biogas plants in Uttar Pradesh. He further commended the transformative strides made by the state under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, shedding the 'BIMARU' label (sick state) and achieving excellence across various sectors.

Compressed Bio Gas Plant, Budaun

The Budaun plant, spanning 50 acres with an investment of approximately Rs 135 crore, is poised to produce a substantial 14 tonnes of compressed biogas daily. Beyond its impressive production capacity, the plant holds a crucial role in addressing stubble management, a challenge prevalent in the agricultural landscape.

Union Minister Puri underscored the plant's potential in curbing stubble burning across a vast expanse of 17,500-20,000 acres of fields. This proactive approach is anticipated to result in an annual reduction of 55,000 tons of CO2 emissions, contributing significantly to environmental sustainability.

Aside from its environmental impact, the Budaun plant is set to become a hub for employment generation. It is expected to create direct employment opportunities for around 100 individuals while generating indirect employment for approximately 1000 people. Minister Puri's vision extends beyond Budaun, as he expressed plans for over 100 similar biogas plants to be established in Uttar Pradesh in the future.

This forward-looking approach aligns with the broader goal of promoting sustainable and eco-friendly practices, contributing to the overall well-being of the state and its residents. So, as Uttar Pradesh gears up for the establishment of additional biogas plants, it sets a promising trajectory for environmental responsibility, economic development, and job creation in the state.
