Due to high convergence of strong moist westerly/southwesterly winds from the Arabian sea along the west coast and cyclonic circulation over south Gujarat & neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls most likely to continue over Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra & Coastal Karnataka during next 5 days, say weather forecast reports in its morning bulletin.

Isolated extremely heavy falls is also very likely over Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra on 03rd & 04th July; Gujarat region on 04th & 05th July 2020.

On the other hand, intense thunderstorm & lightning potential zone: Moderate to intense thunderstorm & lightning very likely over south Uttar Pradesh, north Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat State, northern parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, east Vidarbha, Telangana, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha during next 12 hours.

Assam flood continues to ravage the state. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of persons who lost their lives in the flood.

"PM @narendramodi has sanctioned ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of persons who lost their lives due to floods in Assam from the PM National Relief Fund," Modi tweeted from his PMO Twitter handle.

Lightning Strikes Bihar Again, 8 Dead

At least eight people were killed in in lightning strikes on Friday, a day after 26 died in similar incidents in eight districts of the state, says official.

A cyclonic circulation lies over East Uttar Pradesh & neighborhood and a north-south trough runs from East Uttar Pradesh to East Vidarbha in lower tropospheric levels. It is most likely to cause fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thundershower activity with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over central & adjoining east India during next 5 days.

Maximum & Minimum Temperature

Maximum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, Gujarat region and Punjab while minimum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Punjab and Rajasthan; at many places over Rajasthan and Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi.
