A north-south trough extending from Bihar to Andhra Pradesh will cause ‘moderate to heavy’ rain with thunderstorms in Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Arunachal Pradesh. The possibility of lightning has also been highlighted in these regions.

However, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand are likely to experience scattered snow or rain.

In Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, isolated rain with thunderstorms is expected due to wind convergence in the region.

In the rest of the country, dry and fair weather conditions are likely to prevail. Maximum temperatures will be lower than normal over most of the country except southern India. At night the temperature will be +4°C to+8°C 'warmer than normal' in southern and northeastern India.

Air quality will fall under the ‘poor to very poor’ category in major cities across India and especially in Delhi.

Sunday and Beyond Weather Conditions:

The northeastern states are experiencing moderate to heavy rain as humid winds from the Bay of Bengal are leading to moisture. Though, thunderstorms are likely to prevail in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh.

Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh are likely to experience moderate snow and rain.

There will be wind convergence over south India leading to isolated rains and thunderstorms in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Other areas will experience dry and fair weather conditions under gentle breezes.

Maximum temperatures will be lower than normal in most of the states except southern India. At night the temperature will be +4°C to+8°C 'warmer than normal' in northern and southern Indian states.

However, air quality in major cities across India, especially Delhi, will be under the ‘poor to very poor’ category.
