Delhi rains
Delhi and NCR was reeling under high humidity for the last few days. Today morning, Delhiites woke up to rains lashing at various parts, giving a respite from humidity. IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) had predicted moderate to heavy rains in Delhi. Areas to receive rain include Delhi, South-West Delhi, Central Delhi, East Delhi, Gurugram, and Manesar.
Delhi rains will continue till tomorrow, although the intensity will reduce. Maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to remain around 30 degree Celsius and humidity upto 84%.
Red alert in Himachal Pradesh (HP)
Shimla Meteorological Center has warned people not to go near rivers and water bodies because the state is to witness very heavy rains till July 30.
Red alert for very heavy rain has been issued for July 27 and 28, orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain for July 29, and yellow alert for reasonable to heavy rain for July 30.
Orange alert in Madhya Pradesh (MP)
Madhya Pradesh has been receiving rainfall continuously for four days and this is the fourth orange alert for the state for heavy to very heavy rainfall in 13 districts.
Orange alert is issued at Gwalior, Ashok Nagar, Guna, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Datia, Rajgarh, Morena, Bhind, Agar-Malwa, Mandsaur, Neemuch, and Tikamgarh districts.
A senior weather scientist at the Bhopal center of IMD predicts that rains may decrease by July 27 in the state due to the weakening of low pressure area over Northwest MP. However, the cyclonic circulation continues over this area as the East-West trough is running with latitude of 25 degrees North.
Almost all areas of MP have received rain in the last 24 hours. The highest recorded rainfall is 260 mm in 24 hours ending 8:30 am in Jawra in Ratlam district. Chhatarpur twon of East MP received the maximum rainfall of 42.4 mm.
