Themed around 'Multilingual India: A Living Tradition,' the New Delhi World Book Fair 2024 serves as a platform to celebrate India's linguistic diversity and literary heritage.

Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the New Delhi World Book Fair at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, emphasizing India's linguistic diversity and global literary traditions. Present at the event were dignitaries including Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to India, Saleh bin Eid Al-Husseini, and Minister of State for Education, Annpurna Devi.

Celebrating Multilingualism and Literary Traditions

Union Minister highlighted the theme of this year's fair, 'Multilingual India: A Living Tradition,' celebrating the rich tapestry of languages in India and their role in shaping the nation's cultural landscape. He underscored the importance of language and literature in fostering a cohesive society and achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Launch of National Digital Libraries for All App

The Minister launched the National Digital Libraries for All app, aimed at providing non-academic reading material for children and adolescents. This initiative, aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, seeks to cultivate a love for reading, critical thinking, and creativity among young minds.

Pradhan unveiled 'E-Jaadui Pitara,' an innovative e-learning platform comprising puzzles, riddles, and stories, in line with the National Education Policy 2020. He also released special modules and resources aligned with NEP 2020, emphasizing inclusive education and social empowerment.

The Minister also released various literary works, including the anthology 'Igniting Collective Goodness Mann ki Baat @100' and the Hindi and English Braille editions of 'Exam Warrio's by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Additionally, he inaugurated cultural pavilions and exhibitions fostering dialogue and exchange between nations.

With the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the esteemed Guest Country, the fair promises cultural exchange, literary discourse, and a celebration of global literary traditions.
