World Food India 2019 to be held in November

India ranks 2nd in terms of total food production globally, and is home to 1.3 Billion consumers with an increasing demand for processed food. Food processing sector is a sunrise sector in India with a GVA USD 27.4 Billion (2017-18) and a CAGR of 11% which is double the global growth rate.

India ranks 2nd in terms of total food production globally and is home to 1.3 Billion consumers with an increasing demand for processed food. The food processing sector is a sunrise sector in India with a GVA USD 27.4 Billion (2017-18) and a CAGR of 11% which is double the global growth rate.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India (MOFPI) is the nodal agency for the development of food processing sector in India.

With the aim of promoting the Food Processing Sector in the country, MOFPI has established a biennial event ‘World Food India’. World Food India (WFI) acts as a gateway to the Indian food economy and an opportunity to showcase, connect, and collaborate. The first such event was conducted in November 2017 and witnessed participation from 61 countries, including the Ministers from several countries and India, Chief Ministers of various Indian states, 60 Global CEOs and eminent academicians. The event witnessed more than 75,000+ visitors, 8000 B2B meetings and partnerships with 5 countries and 20 states to make WFI 2017 a grand success. The event also witnessed $13.56 Billion worth of MoUs being signed.

This year, the 2nd Edition of the event, ‘World Food India 2019’ is being organized from 01st to 04th November at New Delhi. WFI 2019 will bring together Heads of Governments, Business Leaders, Investors, Thought Leaders, Policy and Opinion Makers, and eminent Industry Associations to further the cause of creating a sustainable ecosystem for the Food Processing Industry in India. The event will be focused on attracting potential investments in the food processing sector in India.
